The 1841 census est. his birth to 1807/11 at Lincolnshire, while the 1851 census estimates his birth to 1810 at Barrow, Lincs..[1][2] The US 1860 census est. Richard's birth to 1811 in England, and asserts that he was age 49.[4]

Death

Richard died at the age of 70 on 14 June 1881. He was buried the next day at Edgar cemetery in Paris, Edgar co., Illinois.[17]
