*On the 6th of October, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, James enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Corp Reserve with the rank of private. At the time he was single, without dependents, & had completed one year of college. [1]
*1st Lt James A Ogle Jr was assigned to the 459th BG 759th Squadron. The 459th Bombardment Group was one of a number of B-24 Liberator groups assigned to the 15th Air Force flying out of Italy in 1944 and 1945. Based at Giulia Air Field, the 459th BG, a member of the 304th Bombardment Wing, flew missions in Italy, France, the Balkans, Austria and Germany.[2]
Death
James Adelbert Ogle Jr. died on January 16th, 2013 in Woodstock, McHenry, Illinois.[3]
Burial
James A Ogle Jr. was buried with full military honors provided by the VFW Post 5040 at Oakland Cemetery, Woodstock, Illinois on January 19th, 2013[4]
