Ogle, H.A.(1902). Ogle and Bothal: History of the baronies of Ogle, Bothal, and Hepple, (pp.177-180, 190).

  1. Henry was the 2nd son.
  2. Based on arms of Mark Ogle. The Musgraves were German, and supposedly descend from an Austrian arch-duchess. The family were lords of marches and mosses, and arrived with the Conqueror.
  3. 18 Aug 1535: Granted arms - Musgrave, Ogle and Bertram; at Battle of Flodden.
  4. 1497 - aft.04 Jul 1516: rector of Forde; Clerk or priest; 1523: rector of Ilderton; rector of Bothal;1545: identified dead body of Sir Ralph Eure - Battle of Ancrum Moor.
  5. Issue: Luke Ogle of Eglinham
  6. 1514-1532: rector of Ingram
  7. Note that Clement Ogle of South Dissington (d. ante 18 Mar 1598), and his brother Oliver ... were each willed half a tithe of Eglingham parish starting in 1566, from their father John Ogle of Ogle Castle (b. abt. 1477 - 1566).
