Sir Chaloner Roe Majendie Ogle, 4th Baronet of Worthy (b. 02 Jun 1843 - dsp. 29 Nov 1861 Withdeane Court)[1][2]

Death

Chaloner was buried 5 Dec 1861 in the Roe family vault at Patcham church.[1][3][1][4]

He was succeeded by his uncle William, 5th BT (b. 05 May 1823), son of Sir Charles Ogle, 2BT of Worthy and Letitia Burroughs[1][4]

Obit 14 Dec 1861:

"Obituary of eminent persons: SIR C. ROE-MAJENDIE OGLE, BART. Sir Chaloner Roe-Majendie Ogle, fourth Baronet, of Worthy, the county of Hants, was the elder and only surviving son of Sir Chaloner Ogle, the third Baronet, a Captain in the Army, his wife. Eliza Sophia Frances, daughter and sole heiress of William Thomas Roe, Esq., m Withdean, Sussex. He was born the 2nd of June,: 1843, and succeeded his father, as fourth Baronet, on the 3rd of February, 1859. He died, unmarried, on the 29th ult., at, his seat, Wtthdean, Sussex, and the baronetcy devolves on his uncle, now Sir William Ogle, the fifth Baronet, the youngest son of Sir Charles Ogle, Admiral of the Fleet, and the second Baronet. This family Ogle, of great antiquity in Northamptonshire, held for centuries the barony Ogle, which barony fell into abeyance between the five daughters Henry Cavendisfi, second Duke of Newcastle, at his Grace’s death, 1691. The first Baronet, Admiral Sir Chaloner Ogle, received his baronetcy, in 1816 in reward his naval services. He was the great-grandfather of the Baronet just deceased."[5]
