Biography

Nancy Ann Oglesby, the daughter of Stephen Oglesby and Louisa Knight, was born about 1852 in Kentucky. She was recorded in the 1860 Census, living in Webster County, Kentucky with her parents and siblings.[1] In August of 1870, the family was recorded in the census living in Webster County, Kentucky and mother Louisa, age 41, was the head of the household, Nancy was 18.[2] Her father Stephen is not listed with the family, since he passed away on 8 March 1870.

Miss N.A. Oglesby, age 20, and William Crowley, age 30, were married on 8 November 1871 in Webster County, Kentucky. [3] They had three children:

  1. Irene Lois Crowley
  2. Mary D. Crowley
  3. Cassandra "Cassie" Crowley (22 January 1878 - 19 June 1954) dates from her Certificate of Death.[4]

In the 1880 Census, Nancy A. Crawley, age 29, was recorded as a widow, living in Pittsburgh District, Webster County, Kentucky. Her children were Irene Lois, age 7, Mary D, age 5, and Cassander (Cassie), age 3. Also, her cousin Elviry, age 40, was living with her. The household listed above hers is that of her mother's Louisa B. Oglesby.[5]

On the 13th of November 1884, N. A. Crawley married D.L. Fraser [David] in Webster County, Kentucky.[6] They had three known children.

In the 1900 census, David L. Fraser age 39, a minister, and Nancy A. Frazier age 47 were recorded living in Webster County, Kentucky, with their daughter Sarah L. Frazier, age 9. Nancy lists her birthdate as January 1853.[7]

In the 1910 census, David L. Frasier, age 49, and his wife Nancy, age 57, married 24 years, and daughter Sarah L, age 18, were recorded living in District #2, Webster County, Kentucky,[8]

In the 1920 census, David L. Fraser, age 58, Nancy A., age 67, and daughter Sarah L., age 28, were recorded living in Francisco Village, Gibson County, Indiana.[9]

Nancy A. Oglesby Fraser's tombstone shows the dates of 1852 - 1925. She is buried in the Mount Lebanon General Baptist Church Cemetery in Sebree, Webster County, Kentucky.[10]

Research Note

I could not locate any source to document that Nancy died in Nebraska. In 1920 she is 67 years of age and living in Indiana but I could not find any documentation of her passing away there either.
