DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Johann by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Johann:

Hello, So I just added Sarah Olinger (Olinger-917) as a daughter of Johann Jacob Ohlinger. She married Abraham Winkle and I am confident that part is correct. I was going to connect Sarah's profile to her parents and thought I had done that correctly, but now I see she has two sets of parents listed in Family Search.

First is this couple I attached her to, Johann Jacob Olinger and Mary Magdalena Sohns. But on Family Search is also has Sarah listed as a daughter of Peter Olinger and Katherine Sherfey. I did a quick Google search for Peter Olinger but did not find anything.

The FS records all seem to be to connect Sarah Olinger and John Winkell together, none seem to list her correct parents.

I just wanted to post my current notes here. More research needed.

Olinger-273 and Olinger-121 are not ready to be merged because: Only one child matches - John Olinger. Would like to do more research on confirming all children before merging them
