Biography

Nils Petter Oinas, the son of Juho Oinas and Margareta Juhontytär Kostamo, was born at the Oinas #2 farm, (Öfverby), Kemijärvi, Lapland, Finland. He was baptized on 30 September 1826. He and his wife Anna Reeta (or Anna Greta as it is known in Swedish) were farmers and moved in 1872 to Jaatila near Rovaniemi and took the name Tiuraniemi/Hookana.
