Biography

Symon was born about 1650. He is the son of Richard Old and Dorothy Arthur. Symon was christened on 15 June 1650 in Mawgan-in-Meneage, Cornwall, England.^[1] Symon married twice; firstlt to Sarah Kempthorne about 1680 by whom he had four children, and secondly to Catherine or Christian Coyte on 12 Feb 1702 at Mawgan.

Symon Olde of Mawgan in Meneage, Butcher, Will dated 21 Sep 1719, Proved 1719. To John Grub, potter, and John Osburne, yeoman, of Mawgan in Meneage, executors in trust, all estate in houses, gardens, etc. in Mawgan in Meneage purchased from executors of Renatus Bollett esq. dec. to be used for payment of debts, legacies, etc. To children by former wife, 4d. To granddaughter Sarah Anthony and William son of Hugh Roberts, 1s each. To son and daughter William Olde and Eleanor Olde, 2 thirds and 1 third respectively, of all monies remaining after payment of debts, funeral charges, etc, Sign of Symon Olde.
