Mary Anne Old was born 16 March 1927 in Virginia, United States. Her parents are Thomas Hadren Old (1888-1977) and Bessie Sarah Halstead, who were married 4 September 1912 in Pasquotank, North Carolina, United States.
In 1930, the Old family lived in Pleasant Grove, Norfolk, Virginia, United States.[1]

Tragically, Walter Olen Thomas, Sr. was killed in a hunting accident in 1955.
Mary Ann was married a second time to Henry "Hank" Roman Wilhelm (1928–2016) 17 December 1960 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States.[5] They did not have more children.[6]
Mary Ann Old Thomas Wilhelm died 1 December 2014 and she was buried 5 December 2014 in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, Virginia, United States.[7]

Mary Anne Wilhelm, 87, of Chesapeake, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014. Born in Old Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Old and was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Olen Thomas, Sr. Mary Anne owned and operated Oak Grove Cleaners with her late husband, Olen. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Henry R. "Hank" Wilhelm; children, Walter Olen Thomas, Jr. and Sandra Thomas Hall; grandchildren, Walter Olen Thomas, III, C. Huston Thomas, H. Max Thomas, Melody Anne Visser and husband Peter, Justin Thomas Hall; great-grandchildren, Hannah Noelle Visser and Matthew Joseph Visser. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory. A procession with a graveside committal will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
