Biography
MAURITIUS OLDEKOP from Hannover, Schulcollegen der Vierten Klasse in the Riga Lyceum, 1675, and + 1692.[1]
Traditionally, Johann Oldekop, Bürgermeister of Hapsal has been claimed as a son of Justus Heinrich Oldekop, Superintent of Ösel. However, the Dorpat Album Academicum, 1632-1710 (no. 1149) states that Johann Oldekop is not the son of Justus Heinrich Oldekop, but rather of Mauritius Oldekop, collega at the Riga Lyceum, 1675, and + 1692, citing Robert Arthur v. Lemm, Dorpater Ratslinie, 1319-1889 (Marburg an Lahn, 1960), 108-109.[2] The same filiation is given in Jaago Kalev, Hapsaler Bürgerbuch, 1496-1797 (Tallinn, 1999), 105.
