Catherine Cordelia Alice Oldershaw was born on 3 January 1910 in Berkshire, her father, Lucian, was 34, and her mother, Ethel, was 37. She married Brian Cecil Guinness on 10 February 1938 in Maidenhead, Berkshire. They had two children during their marriage. She died on 9 December 1996 in Surrey at the age of 86.
