Biography
Margaret, the daughter of Francis Oldfield and Mary, was born at Selby, Yorkshire in about 1952.[1]
At the time of the 1861 Census, aged 9 years, she was with her parents and younger brother James, at Stranton, Durham.[2]
In 1871, they were still at Stranton and Margaret (19) was working as a Milliner And Dress Maker.[3]
Margaret married Alfred Withy (1849-1911) in 1872 within in the district of Hartlepool.[4][5]
By the time of the 1881 Census, Alfred and Margaret had 4 children. They ware living at Tower Street, Stranton, Durham.[6]
Alfred passed away in 1911.
At the time of the 1911 Census, Margaret, widowed was with three of her children, Edward (37), Frank (28) and Daisy (19) at West Hartlepool.[1]
