Ann Cody's Will
Written: 19 March 1813
Recorded: 17 October 1825
In the name of God amen, I Ann Cody of the County of Prince Edward do make this my last will and testament
as follows, (that is to say) my desire is, to be buried with as little expense as decency will permit & that all my
debts & funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as conveniently may be. I give to my son
William Cody one shilling to him & his heirs forever. I give to my son Harrison Cody one shilling to him & his
heirs forever. I give to my granddaughter Martha James Cody one shilling to her and her heirs forever.
I give to Elsey Mathews one shilling to her & her heirs forever. I give to my daughter Mary Nelson one shilling
to her and her heirs forever. I give to my daughter Nancy one shilling to her & her heirs forever. I give to my
daughter Betsey Cody one shilling to her and her heirs forever. I give to my daughter Sally Boaz one shilling
to her and her heirs forever. I give to my daughter Patsey Clark one shilling to her and her heirs forever. I give
to my son John Cody the balance of my estate to him and his heirs forever & I also appoint John Cody an
executor to my estate, herewith I sett my hand this nineteenth day March in the year of our Lord one
