Biography

Son of Duncan Oliphant (1682-1734), a pioneer settler of Staten Isl., NY, and Hunterdon Co., NJ.

I have John, son of Duncan Oliphant, b ca 1707 Staten Island, NY, d ca 1782, but that's all I have on him except that the family did move to Hunterdon Co, NJ probably about 1718, and he did have a brother named Ephrain, as well as Margaret, David, James, Mary and Ann. I show his mother as Mary Garrison. What info do you have?

I have an Oliphant Grandmother and in my research I saw William Oliphant was banished to New Jersey in 1665 he arrived there the same year.

Also, Andrew Oliphant arrived in New England in 1762 and John Oliphant arrived in New York in 1814.
