Biography

Solomon Rainwater Oliphant was born on August 20, 1823 in Hancock, Georgia, United States.

Solomon (22) married Amanda Rainwater (16) (born on April 1, 1829; daughter of Solomon Rainwater and Nancy (Sims) Rainwater) on March 12, 1846.[1] Their children were:

In 1860, Soloman (36) and Ann Oliphant. [2]

Solomon died on February 13, 1891 in Texas, United States, aged 67.[3]

Research Notes

He and Amanda were 1st cousins. They married in Georgia then moved to Texas. Great story in FS about them. His grandfather was from Scotland. Solomon fought in the CSA. He has no memorial on FG.
