James Willis 'Bud' Oliver, 85, passed away on April 18, 2013 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sammie Stewart Oliver and two daughters, Cynthia (Rand) Ragland and Laura (Russel) McGill. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Monnie Oliver and sister Nelda Tolbert. Visitation will be Sunday, April 21, from 3 - 6 p.m. at Collinsville Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be Monday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Sacred Harp Singing at 1 p.m., funeral services at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Elder Ricky Harcrow to officiate. Pallbearers will be Scot Oliver, Wayne Reed, Wade Higginbotham, Rodney Ivey, Shane Wootten and Henry Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Sacred Harp Musical Heritage Association, 617 Ayers Drive, Anniston, AL 36207, www.fasola.org/shmha Collinsville Funeral Home, directing.
