Im looking to find my father .He was based at raf alconbury and raf molesworth . His name is jose manuel gonzalez . was jnown as speedy . would have been there roughly around 1967 to 1970s as i was born in 1969 and have never met him .Any help in tracing him would be appreciated thank you .
Just saw you signed the Honor Code to become a full member. I read the note about your father and assume he was an American serviceman stationed in England.
In the past there was a cartoon character called "Speedy Gonzales" which likely accounts for your father's nickname. Gonzales is a common name in the U.S.which could make your search more difficult.
One approach would be for you to do a DNA test with the hope that your father, or one of his relations, might have done one.
I revised the wording due to incorrect assumption on time period. A private message will be sent with additional information.
