Marcena was born in 1845, the son of John and Sarah Oliver ^[1]

England and Wales Census, 1851: Living with his parents and four siblings in Green Bank Lane, Liskeard, Cornwall, England. Aged 6.

At the age of 25 he married 30 year old Maria Olliver on 23 February 1871 at the parish church in the parish of St Neot, Cornwall, after Banns^[2].

They had two sons; Richard John and Edwin Arthur.

England and Wales Census, 1881: Living with his wife and two sons in Thorn Terrace, Liskeard Old Municipal Borough, Cornwall, England. Aged 36.

Occupation: Bus Conductor (6/2)

Sadly Marcena passed away in 1881 at the age of 36^[3] and was buried at the Parish Church Burial Ground, Liskeard, Cornwall^[4].
