McDaniel was born about 1820. He is the son of McDaniel Oliver and Charlotte Unknown. [1]
He enlisted in Company 'D' 11th Battalion, Georgia Infantry, the "Screven Guards", on May 6, 1862. The unit was assigned to the Army of Tennessee. He was transferred to Company "d" 47th Regiment Georgia Infantry on May 12, 1862. He is present on the roll for February 28,1863, and no later record.
As Mack D. Oliver he appeared on the 1880 census.[2] He died about 1900.[3]
