Biography

Christened at High Halden on 3 April 1796. If his sarcophagus in High Halden churchyard reads correctly he must have been born in 1794, before his parents' marriage. (His christening would have been delayed until afterwards in order to give him the 'right' surname.) The sarcophagus reads: "Thomas Oliver died 27 August 1863 aged 69. Leaving a widow to lament his loss".
