Biography

Susannah was born in 1863^[1] in Beverley, Yorkshire, England. She lived with her parents, Edward Oliver and Sarah Marling, in Scarborough, Yorkshire, in 1871;^[2] at the time of the 1881 census, Susannah worked as a domestic servant in Keyingham, Yorkshire.^[3]

In 1886 Susannah married Thomas William Gibson in Drypool, Yorkshire.^[4][5] In 1891 the family lived at 6 Carrill Terrace, Hull, Yorkshire, and Thomas was a railway porter.^[6] By 1901 they had moved to 75 Regent Street.^[7] At the time of the 1911 census, the family lived at 14 Argyle Street and Thomas was a railway checker.^[8] They had moved to Woods Lane, Cottingham, Yorkshire, by 1921, when Thomas worked for the North East Railway.^[9]

Susannah died in 1931 at the age of 67.^[10]
