Biography
Birth and Baptism
Richard Oliver was born 8 May 1807 in Walkington, a village west of Beverley in the Yorkshire Wolds.[1]
Richard was the son of Timothy Oliver and his wife Alice Gouger.
Marriage in North Newbald
In 1831 Richard Oliver married Esther Hought in North Newbald, six miles east of Walkington on the other side of the Wolds. [2]

Richard Oliver is an Ag Lab and the rest of the family are just his wife and children. [3]

Richard and "Easter" Oliver are at home in Walkington with four children under 11 and an elderly pauper Christiana Ward 79 widow of William Ward, Blacksmith ; visiting are another widow Jane Towle 42 and her daughter Sarah 9, [4]

Cottage Farmer 1881 Walkington
In 1881 the Olivers have a Cottage Farm at Rose Cottage, next to Rectory Farm in Walkington. As Richard is 72 his son Francis 31 is probably doing most of the work but expecting to inherit. [5]
Death and Burial
Richard died in Walkington 20 Oct 1892 and was buried in the village cemetery. [6]
