Joseph was born in 1801. His parents were Asa Oliver and Catherine Hill. On May4, 1801, Asa Oliver purchased 100 acres, Lot 14 Concession 1 in Bertie Township. He lived their until he died and willed it to his son Isaiah. It is likely Asa was born in York and moved to Bertie as an infant.
He married Rachel Near about 1830. They had six children
The 1851 census shows Joseph at 50 years old, living with his wife Rachel and six childrenr, ranging in age from 8 to 20, in West Nissouri. [1]
He passed away in 1885, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. [2] He was buried at North Nissouri Presbyterian Cemetery, Cherry Grove, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada
