Gaetano Oliveri is born around 1753-66 in Corleone, the son of Gesualdo Oliveri and Maria Gariffo.
Gaetano marries Giovanna Gundagna on 20 January 1788. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living. Although Giovanna is a widow, this marriage record does not mention it.
Gaetano and Giovanna have at least four children: Maria (1789), Salvatore (1791), Gesualdo (1793), and Rosa (1796).
Maria is born and baptized 19 March 1789, named after her paternal grandmother. Her godparents are Don Girolamo Geraci, who is unmarried, and Rosa Geraci, wife of Calogero.[1]
Salvatore is born and baptized 10 March 1791. His godparents are Mariano Gulotta and Bernarda Guadagna, who are unmarried.[2]
Rosa is born and baptized 24 April 1796. Her godparents are Santo and Bernarda Puma, a married couple.
Gesualdo dies on 5 September 1798 at five years of age.
Rosa dies on 29 September 1798 at a year and five months of age.
Maria marries Giuseppe Cascio on 3 February 1805. Their parents are all living.
In the 1807 stato delle anime, a Church census, Gaetano, age 41 (b. 1766), his wife Giovanna, age 37 (b. 1770), and their son, Salvatore, age 17 (b. 1790), live in the third vanella, or alley, from the Canzoneri church, traveling away from Santa la Croce di Elena. Some of their neighbors are the families of Innocenzo di Miceli, Simone di Miceli, and Francesco di Miceli.
Death of Gaetano
Gaetano dies at age 80 (b. 1753) on 30 January 1833. Giovanna survives him.
Salvatore dies, reportedly at age 40 (he is 46) on 9 November 1837. This record does not indicate whether Salvatore has ever married.
Death of Giovanna
Giovanna dies, reportedly at age 85 (she is around 67) on 14 December 1837.
Maria dies, reportedly at age 90 (she is 86), on 7 April 1875, the widow of Giuseppe.
