Angela (Angelina) Oliveri is born 22 August 1888 and baptized the next day. She is the daughter of Andrea Oliveri and Rosaria Streva. Her godparents are Joseph Gaglianello and Anna Maria, his unmarried daughter.[1]

She arrives in New York at the age of 10 from Naples on the SS Sempione on 4 November 1899 with her father Andrea and sister Mattea, age 24. The family has only $20. They are listed as joining .... Stefano (?) who lives on 105th Street.[2]

Angelina marries Gaetano Reina, the son of Giacomo Reina and Carmela Rumore, on 23 April 1906 in Manhattan.[3]

Gaetano and Angelina have eleven children, nine of whom survive infancy: six boys and three girls.[4]

Their children are Carmela/Mildred (1906), Grazia (c. 1910), Giacomo/Jack (c. 1911), Rose (c. 1912), Henry (c. 1914), Sam (c. 1916), Giovanni (c. 1917), John (c. 1920), Lucia (c. 1923), Bernard (c. 1924), and Anna (c. 1926).

The two children who die in infancy are Grazia, in 1910[5] and Giovanni, in 1917.[6] On 26 February 1930, Gaetano is shot and killed.[7][4]
