Dorothy was born in 1928. She was the daughter of David Olmstead and Freda Ruhl.

Dorothy married William Leamon Mars Jr. in 1949.

The marriage of Miss Dorothy Olmstead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Olmstead, of 513 Newton avenue, Oaklyn, and Mr. William L. Mars Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Mars, of 21 East Clinton avenue, that suburb, took place Saturday afternoon last at four o'clock in the Oaklyn Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert S. Lowndes, pastor of the church, officiated. On their return from a wedding trip, Mr. Mars and his bride will make their home at 212 Manheim avenue, Oaklyn.

Dorothy and William had two children.

2. Linda Sue Mars, b 1962, m. Christopher B. Vasapolli

Dorothy M. Mars AGE: 85 • Oaklyn Passed away on April 19, 2014 (nee Olmstead) a life long resident of Oaklyn, NJ, age 85. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Mars, Jr., loving mother of Kevin Mars (Debra) and Linda Vasapolli (Chris) and dear sister of the late Dick Olmstead, Marion Lamson and Ruth Sohacki. She is also survived by her dear grandsons Christopher and James. Dot was a former employee of the PNC Bank in Oaklyn, a long time member of the Oaklyn Baptist Church and was involved with the NJ Adoption Coalition. Dot also loved animals and could be seen around town with her little buddy Ralph. Relatives and friends are invited meet Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 400 WHITE HORSE PIKE, OAKLYN, NJ. Dot's Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers Dot's family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Oaklyn Baptist Church, 37 E. Bettlewood Ave., Oaklyn, NJ 08107 or Animal Adoption Center, 501 N. Berlin Rd., PO Box 4017, Lindenwold, NJ 08021

Dorothy was buried next to her husband in the Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, Burlington County, New Jersey. ^[1]
