Biography

Birth and Christening

Nils Olofsson was born December 23, 1757, at Restad, Vånga, as the son of Olof Nilsson and Kristina Svensdotter. He was christened December 26 and his Godparents were Olof Nilsson at Restad, Joseph Persson at Restad, Olof Svensson at Torp, the wife Ingrid Persdotter at Restad, the maid Chiersti Larsdotter at Restad and the maid Ingeborg Svensdotter at Västra Torp.^[1]

Migration

In 1776 Nils moves from Vånga to Jägestorp in Hällestad.^[2]

Marriages

December 26, 1793, Nils married Cherstin Andersson, who was living at Fräntorp.^[3]

December 26, 1800, Nils marries the farm maiden Anna Lisa Olofsdotter.^[4]

Nils had two sons with Cherstin Andersson.

Death and Burial

August 20, 1827, Nils dies of old age at the age of 70 years old. He is buried the next day.^[5]

Estates

In the estate inventory after Nils's first wife Kerstin a part of the village Jägestorp is included, three twenty quarters to be exact.^[6] This is not included in the estate inventory after Nils (see below) which says that the sons from his first marriage have already gotten their mother's share.

"Year 1827, August 27, an estate inventory was written down after the deceased estate owner Nils Olofsson at Jägestorp Hällestad parish, who by death died August 20, and who left behind the widow Anna Lisa Olofsdotter and four children with her, and in an earlier marriage with the deceased Kjerstin Andersdotter 2 children, or six heirs; the son Olof, home farmer at Ekedal, Risinge parish, the son Anders 28 years old and farm hand at Össby, Risinge parish, the son Nils, almost 22 years old, farmhand at Thorstorp, Risinge, the son Johannes 5 years old, the daughter Maja Stina 26 years old and not married, the daughter Anna Lisa 10 years old. To watch over the rights of the children who are not of age was former Bergman Hans Håkansson at Jägestorp. And notified was that the two oldest children, Olof and Anders, had already gotten their inheritance from their mother."^[7]
