Birgitte Olsdotter was married to Njell Steinson, and lived at Jelsa farm in Jelsa, Rogaland, from about 1603 onwards.[1] Their children were:
Siri Nielsdatter, the wife of Laurits Lilledal in Etne, had allodial rights to a share of Jelsa and may have been their daughter.[1]
After Njell's death about 1614, Birgitte lived at Jelsa; 26 Nov 1616, Njell's nephew Stein, the son of his elder brother Siver, claimed and was granted the rights to the farm.[1] Birgitte moved to Foldøy, where she lived until about 1621; she then married Sevat Fora and moved to Fora, Sjernarøy.[1]
