Biography

Edwin (Jr.) was born in 1919 in Minnesota. He was the son of Edwin Olsen and Elizabeth Kisserow. The family lived near Beaver Brook, Washburn, Wisconsin. His mother traveled by train to St Paul a short time before he was born and she and Edwin returned to the farm after.

He registered for the draft at age 21 on 1 Jul 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He listed his mother Elizabeth as his primary contact. At that time he was working for the Midwest Nine Co. in St. Paul as a Bottler.

He married Lillian Rothboeck in 5 July 1941 in South Dakota. They lived in Southern California for a time where Edwin worked for an aircraft plant. They had three children, raising them in Oregon, where they had moved after the war.

He enlisted for service in World War II as a Private on 28 Jan 1943 at Los Angeles, California. At that time he had a high school education and his civilian occupation was listed as a "semi-skilled construction occupation." He served as a Corporal in the US Army Air Corps.

He passed away in 1994 at age 74 in Jackson County, Oregon.
