Biography

Sarah Ann Olson was born September 25, 1852, in LaSalle county, Illiniois, the daughter of Ole Olson and Bertha (Unbekannt ? / Toresdtr? / Danielson?) Olson.

Sarah Ann married Signor Erlynd and was the mother of at least nine children:

  • Elizabeth Marie Erland, born June 2, 1874, in Newhall, Benton county, Iowa, died February 8, 1913, in Newhall, married 1) Lewis Armstrong and 2) Thomas Johnson
  • Oscar S. Erland (1876 - 1939) married Margaret S. Sparrenberger
  • Otto T. Erland, born November 9, 1879, in Newhall, died 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, never married
  • Mathilda B. Erland (1881 - 1960) married William Marion Nichols
  • Porter Germine Erland (1884 - 1950) married Blanche Mae Usher
  • Charles E. Erland (1887 - 1945) married Verda Mae Baker
  • Chester Erland (1889 - 1945) married Nelda Bobzein
  • Clarence Erland (1892 - 1951) married Mae H. Kraft
  • Elmer Erland born July 24, 1895, in Newhall, died May 5, 1955, in Pima county, Arizona, never married.

Sarah Ann died March 26, 1924, in Newhall, Benton county, Iowa and is buried in the Norway cemetery, there.
