Biography

Ludvig was born in 1902. He was the son of Per Olsson (1875-1958), a carpenter, and his wife Johanna Christina (Larsson) Olsson (1878-1971), who had moved into their own house at Hovby No 2 the year before. Ludvig was the second child, his older brother was two years older.[1] [2]

By the time Ludvig was 15 he had five younger siblings and his father Per had become a carpenter's journeyman[3]. Then Ludvig moves away from home, he starts working as a servant at Hovby No 17[4], already in 1918 he moves to Hovby No 19[5] and works as a servant for Nils Lavesson. In the same place there is a servant, Ester, and it is probably here that the two meet for the first time. At the end of 1919 Ludvig moves to Österslöv, Håstad No 16, Nybodal[6] where he works as a servant for the owner of the house Nils Persson. In 1921 Ester comes to Österslöv, she works on another farm, presumably the two have contact with each other. Ludvig stays until November 1923 when he moves back to Hovby No 17[7] in Norra Åsum, where Ester also comes and the two marry in December of the same year[8].

Ludvig works as a farm labourer and the young couple moves in December 1924 to Vä No 26 where Ludvig is a house owner and farm labourer. Their first three children Anna-Lisa, Private and Bertil are born in the house at Vä 26.[9]

In December 1928, the family moves to Vä No 36[10], where Ludvig is a civil servant until the following July, when they move to Gustav Adolf Parish, Håslöv No 11 (Skåne's Viby)[11] Ludvig works as a quarryman. In April 1933 Ludvig and Ester's youngest child Private is born and the family has already bought a plot of land and is building a house in Hammar, Nosaby Parish.

Hammar 8
Ludvig builds the house himself with the help of his father Per, a carpenter. The house is completed in August 1933 when the family moves to their new home in Hammar.[12] [13]

Ludvig and his family finally stay in one place without moving around, the children moving out one by one. They have a nice garden with currant bushes and grow their own vegetables, they have chickens and even a household pig that is slaughtered at Christmas. The years go by, all the children have married, Ludvig works on Hammarslund's carnation farm but unexpectedly he dies of a heart attack a few months after his 60th birthday[14]. He is buried in the cemetery in Nosaby.
