In the household record for Fellingsbro parish covering 1675-1684 we find Lars Olofsson and his wife Karin Jonsdotter in Gillberga with daughters Malin and Karin.[1] Looking at the taxation records, there has been a Lars Olofsson in Gillberga since 1668.
At the time of the household record for 1684-1692 Lars Olofsson lived in Sköldberga with his wife Karin Jonsdotter and married daughter Karin Larsdotter with husband Anders Larsson.[2] Where the family appears a second time it is written out that Anders Larsson is the son-in-law[3] - it was Anders who was born in Sköllberga, to Lars Eriksson who died early, in 1660 and his wife Elin Danielsdotter.
1683 is the first year Lars Olofsson is head of household in Sköldberga.[4] In 1687 it's the son-in-law that is head of household in the taxation record (Lars being over-age).[5]
What happened here is that Karin Larsdotter and Malin Larsdotter from Gillberga married a couple of brothers from Sköllberga, Olof Larsson and Anders Larsson, one couple settling in Gillberga and the other in Sköllberga - and the elder generation changing places at the same time.
Lars Olofsson was widowed in the beginning of 1692. He married again 13 November 1692. (Name of bride not mentioned).[6]
27 May 1697 Lars Olsson in Sköldberga appears as christening witness for a child of Hans Larsson in Sköldberga.[7] This child died after a month.[8]
In the cathechism examination record for 1693-1699 there is instead of Lars Olsson his son Lars, who also has a wife Karin (Persdotter).[9]
Lars Olsson in Skölberga was buried 5 November 1699. He was 76 years old.[10]
From the next household record can be seen that his second wife was also named Karin (probably Karin Nilsdotter).[11]
In the birth records there are (at least) three children of Lars Olsson born in Hällby: Lars in 1654, Karin in 1656, and Anna in 1664. The first two seem to agree with the children of Lars Olofsson in Gillberga. (Turned out to be deceptive).
Lars Olofsson and his wife are in Hällby at the taxation for 1665.[12] In Gillberga at the same time the heads of household are Anders Månsson, Nils Andersson and Per Andersson.[13] In the taxation record for 1669 there is no Lars Olofsson in Hällby[14] - there is one in Gillberga.[15] In 1668 he is listed in both places.[16] (Records for 1666 and 1667 are not digitized).
Since Lars Olofsson in Hällby was buried in the beginning of 1668, these are two different persons.[17]
There were three wives named Karin in Sköldberga for a time.[18] 13 July 1712 hustru Karin Nilsadotter in Sköldberga married Nils Jansson in Nederby.[19] Well that is a long wait for her second marriage. Could be somebody else.
