Elisabet was born 1 May 1881 to Olaus Olofsson and his wife Kristina Sofia Jakobsdotter. She was next youngest of seven children.
In March 1902 Elisabet went to America - several siblings had emigrated earlier.
Elisabet Olsson came back from America with a husband, Axel Erik Nilsson and a daughter born in Chicago. The couple were married in Chicago 16 April 1902 by a vicar from the Augustana Synode. They lived in Rappestad and had three more children. The family moved to Linköping in December 1912.
Axel Erik Nilsson moved back to America in October 1913. It looks like the children were fostered away in the beginning of 1915, because they move out from Linköping without their mother, the girls to one parish and the boys to another. Elisabet lived alone, by her married name, as Elisabet Nilsson. She moved to Kisa in 1916. She came from Kisa to Norrköping in 1918, having divorced Axel Erik 17 September 1917. Elisabet Olsson has taken back her maiden name. She makes a living as a hairdresser to begin with, but soon starts working as a milliner. When she marries bandmaster Alberto Bongiovanni 10 November 1929 she has her own millinery shop.
Elisabet Bongiovanni, born Olsson, died from breast cancer 1 January 1932.
