Jenson started his training in the electrical systems in the US Navy . He worked in the electrical field at Struthers Wells for many years . The hobby of Radio repair took many of his spare time hours in the little shop at home . The first recording system of the home type that Jenson had was quite unique a system using a soft wire as a medium for recording .

In a letter from son Walter in December 1998. " A little more bio. on my dad may be useful to you. He was an electrician in the Navy and for Struthers Wells. He learned to repair radios by a correspondence school and did that as a second job for 11 years. After a heart attack in 1953 he stopped repairing radios and started custom recording. He would record an event on tape and make disks from the tape."
