Fern Orange was born in Ottawa in 1912. She was the daughter of Frederick Orange and Mary McKay.
Miss Fern Orange, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Fred Orange, last on Saturday for Toronto, Niagara and Buffalo, where she will spend her holidays.[1]
She married Nick Wall around 1933.
The many friends of Mrs. Fern Wall are glad to hear the good tidings that she is recuperating rapidly at her home in Miami. Mrs Wall wife of Jockey Nick Wall was forced to undergo a serious nose operation in a local hospital last week.[2]
There is more local interest in this top notch Jockey for Nick Wall's wife is the former Fern Orange of Ottawa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Orange, of 885 Somerset street west. Mr. Orange is an operator with the Ottawa Electric Railway Company. Nick was called to California from Hialeah Park, Florida, where he has been riding this past Winter. Earl Sande, greatest of all Jockeys In his day, and trainer of Stagehand and the latter's full brother, Sceneshifter, and also an entry in the Santa Anita handicap, had telephoned for Wall's services. Nick flew to California arriving on Friday morning. He had to leave his wife in Florida. She has been ill for more than a month, having undergone an operation.[3]
