William was baptised on 27 Apr 1773. He was the son of Joseph Orchard and Prudence Rogers. He is recorded as a farmer in Garras in the 1841 and "proprietor of houses" in Lower Garras in 1851. He died of apoplexy on 3 Feb 1853 and was buried in Mawgan in Meneage on 6 Feb.
