Reasons for Questioning Existence

As discussed in the profile for Samuel Edson, he did have a wife Susanna who died and was buried as above, but there is no proof she was an Orcutt nor is there any evidence that any Susanna Orcutt, born in Warwickshire in 1590-1640, existed. (If you find such, please discuss here.)

Orcutt, needs a disputed whatever section

I'm going in to change the children's mother to Bickley-40

I note that all her children need to be remapped to Susannah Bickley.

Personally, I think that something is amiss with the Susanna Orcutt file. However, with over 25,000 ancestors and offspring in my own files, I find that people way back (even Pilgrims and Puritans) behaved pretty much like folks today. They cheated, they split, they had multiple marriages and liasons ... If my file on Susanna's mother is correct, she made a career of it! Just because something sounds outrageous, doesn't mean it's not so. I think we collectively need to poke around on this one - and a few others - before dismissing them out of hand.

I agree that the profile should be kept, with a prominent indication that she exists only as the result of genealogical errors, and documentation of the details.

Chase argues that after disconnecting her, we should probably NOT merge her away, but keep her around and mark her up all over the place as probably non-existent; otherwise, she'll just get recreated. I tend to agree.

I don't have any updates, and I can't remember if I got waylaid before or after looking. I'm in favor of disconnect and merge her away

I am not sure whether this will help - or just add to the confusion: I have Susanna(h) Orcutt 20 Feb 1618-1699 m. Deacon Samuel Edson 1 Feb 1632. Her parents as William Orcutt 1592-1694 (!) and the former wife of Timothy Fenn 1596-1650. She was born in Cromasty, Scotland and died in Isle of Wight, VA. She apparently didn't stick in any situation long! My source note says LDS - which is not the most solid reference.

Jillaine/Anne - Per discussion in narrative bio for Samuel Edson, I have found no evidence that she existed, so she should either be disconnected as his wife or disconnected from her parents and merged into Susannah Bickley (whose profile I also built out).

Anne, any update here? Would be nice to resolve this.
