Alice, the daughter of William Orme and Ellen Leftwich, was born in late 1859 or by 3 January 1860, when she was baptised at Christ Church, Chester, Cheshire.[1][2] Her birth was registered in the district of Great Boughton, Cheshire.[3]
At the time of the 1861 Census, Alice was with her parents and three siblings at St James Street, Great Boughton.[4]
At the time of the 1901 Ireland Censsus, George and Alice were living at Phibsborough Avenue, Arran Quay, Dublin, Ireland with their children Emma (11) and George (7). Alice's mother, Ellen (Leftwich) Orme (abt.1833-1911) and sister, Emily Orme (abt.1862-abt.1937) were with them. George was working as an Engine Fitter.[7].
