Biography

Egerton Orme was born in Derbyshire, England.

Egerton, son of John Orme, was born before 23 October 1716, when he was baptised at Scropton, Derbyshire.^[1]

He married Lettice Stone of Hanbury, Staffordshire at Lichfield, Staffordshire on 21 January 1747.^[2]

They had one child, Mary, who was baptised in Scropton on 16 April 1748.^[3] She sadly died in infancy and was burried on 23 September the same year.^[4]

Tragically, Lattice died the following year and was buried at the Church of St Werburgh, Hanbury on 6 April 1748.^[5]

Egerton married Catherine Orme at Catherine's home parish of Marston upon Dove on 13 April 1758.^[6] They had at least nine children [sourced on FamilySearch, to be added to WikiTree as time allows].

Both Egerton and Catherine are cited in the will of Catherine's father, who died in 1758.^[7]

Egerton passed away in 1786 and was buried at Scropton on 30 September that year.^[8]
