Alexander was born about 1782 at Langyard, Renfrewshire but later lived at Lochwinnoch. There were many Alexander Lockharts at Lochwinnoch around the same time, so distinguishing among them is often little more than guesswork.
Alexander Lockhart married Agnes Steven in 1825. As was common in Scotland, there were two ceremonies: one in the home parish of each party. FamilySearch shows a marriage on 28 Oct 1825 at Lochwinnoch, and another on 29 Oct 1825 at Port Glasgow.
Was it the same Alexander Lockhart - or a different one - who married Elizabeth Whytelaw in 1841? It seems to be the same Alexander but we cannot be entirely sure.
Alexander Orr passed away in 1849 at Lochwinnoch.
