James Orrick was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 1687, the son the James Orrick and Mary Slade. He is mentioned in the 1690 will of his father as being 3 years of age at that time. [1]
James was married before 1710 to Priscilla Ruley, the daughter of Anthony Ruley. This is proved by a deed dated 31 JAN 1710/11 in which Anthony Ruley conveyed an 82 acre tract of land called Beetonson's Adventure located on the north side of South River to his daughter Priscilla Orrick, the wife of James, for the natural love and affection he bore towards his daughter.[2]
James & Priscilla were the parents of two children. The boy named Ezekiel was deceased by the time his grandmother signed away her rights to property inherited from her father in 1735 (see her profile).
James Orrick died after writing his will. James Orrick signed his will on 25 MAR 1715. I James Orrick being sick & weak . . .
Priscilla Orrick to be the sole executor. Signed by James Orrick with a cursive signature and witnessed by Rebecka Ruley, Sarah Stevens & Henry Hill. Probated 2 MAY 1715. [3]
