On the 12 March 1799, James Baird (bef.1776-bef.1833) and Margaret Orrick were bonded to marry from the Durham Diocese District. Surety was provided by James Faddy, an agent from All Saints, Newcastle upon Tyne.[5][6]
James Baird and Margaret Orrick were married on 13 March 1799 at All Saints, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England.[7][8][9][10][11] Children from this marriage were:
Eleanor Baird (1799-), "1st Dau. Father a Native of this Chapelry. Mother Dau of Robert QUICK a Mariner of this Chapelry" was born on 3 November 1799 and was baptised on 23 February 1800 at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[12][13][14][15][16]
Christian (Baird) Blagburn (1803-1881), (later referred to as "Catherine"), "2nd Dau. Father a Native of this Chapelry. Mother Dau of Robert ORRICK a Mariner of this Chapelry" was born on 6 September 1803 and was baptised on 9 October 1803 at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[17][18][19][20][21][22]
Margaret Baird (1808-), "3rd daughter. Mother is daughter of Robert Orrick, mariner of this parish" was born on 17 November 1808 and was baptised on 5 February 1809 at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[23][24][25][26][27]
Ann (Baird) Jewett (1810-1858)"4th daughter of James and Margaret - daughter of Robert Orrick Mar. Of this parish" was born on 28 July 1810 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England and baptised on 23 September 1810 at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[28][29][30][31][32]
James Baird (bef.1816-) was baptised on 6 May 1816, the same day as his brother John, at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[33][34][35][36]
John Baird (bef.1816-) was born at Sandgate, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England, and was baptised on 6 May 1816, the same day as his brother James, at All Saints, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.[37][38][39][40]
Between the birth of Anne in 1809 and the birth of the twin sons in 1816, the family's abode was changed from "Newcastle" to "Sandgate" (in Newcastle upon Tyne, not Berwick upon Tweed).
Margaret's husband James Baird died in 1833 at Sandgate, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England and was buried at All Saints, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England on 30 December 1833.[41]
In 1841, 67 year old Margaret had occupation "Cheesemonger", and was living with her son James at Low House, Bolam, Northumberland, England.[42]
In 1851, Margaret was with her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Robert Blagburn, and their family at High Street, Gateshead, Durham, England.[43]
In 1861, 86 year old Margaret was still with her daughter and son-in-law at High St. Eastside Eastons Yard, Gateshead, Durham, England.[44]
Margaret Baird nee Orrick died at Gateshead, County Durham, England on 15 April 1861 age 87,[45] and was buried at All Saints Cemetery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England:
Margaret's children's baptisms indicate she was the "daughter of Robert Orrick, mariner of this parish", not the daughter of Thomas Orrick & Elizabeth Brambough, baptised 29 December 1775, who was buried 26 November 1777;[47] nor the daughter of Thomas Orrick & Elizabeth Brambough, baptised 4 April 1779.
Two earlier daughters of Robert Orrick named Margaret, both died before 1771.
