Biography

Juan Manuel was born about 1727^[1] to Pascual de Ortega (abt.1698-bef.1750) and Antonia Lopez.^[2] In 1750 he married María Antonia Gertrudis Trujillo (1736-).^[2]

Research Notes

1. The baptism record for 28 Dec 1731 for Juan Manuel Ortega lists his father as Mateo Ortega and his mother as Maria Rosa Mestas.^[3] There is also a marriage record in 1760 for Juan Manuel Ortega Mestas and Teresa Salazar.^[4] This birth information belongs to a different Juan Manuel Ortega Mestas (bef.1731-).
