Denis Ortego, son of Joaquin Ortego and Mare Soto, was born in St. Landry Parish, [1]

He married Phelonise Sallier, daughter of Charles Anselme Sallier and Angelique Fontonet on 25 May 1813 their marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. [1]

He married Antoinette Guillory on 24 Jan. 1837, their marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. [1]
