Anna Schimpf, 92, of Sanford, CO died on October 18, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Bagley, MN.

Funeral services will be held in Alamosa, Colorado at a later date. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with local arrangements. The Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa, CO will assist in the out of state arrangements.

Anna was born on March 22, 1922 in Capulin, Co, to Felix and Rebecca Ortiz and was united in marriage to Walter F. Schimpf on February 18, 1946 in Capulin, CO. Anna worked as a cook at the Hi-Way Tavern, Pecos Café in La Jara, CO and also at the Rocky Mountain Lodge in the Conejos Canyon Area. She and her husband entered into owning their own business, Ann’s Café in La Jara, Co for 23 years, until her illness caused them to retire. Anna enjoyed fishing and camping and in the later years just going out to eat. She enjoyed all her traveling to and from CO and MN. She loved playing AGGRAVATION with everyone and always ended as a winner. She especially treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters – Helen (Alfonso) Valdez of La Jara, CO and Carol (Bruce) Hanson of Bagley, MN Son – Henry (Gloria) Schimpf of La Jara, CO. Also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. ^[1]
