Biography

Joseph was born about 1840. He is the son of George Barber and Lucy Jeffery.

Joseph is with his parents and siblings in the 1851 census. [1]

He married Martha Loveless in 1870.[2]

In 1871, Joseph is a sign writer married to Martha. [3]

In 1881, Joseph is sign writer living Gloucester Road (possibly the same as the Gloster Lane where his mother was living in 1851) with wife Martha and children Joseph W, Ada Lucy, Mabell Lizzie, Martha Louise, Emma Jessie, and Blanche Kate.[4]

In 1901, Joseph and Martha are living in Brighton with children Martha L, Emma J, Blanche R, and Wilfred M. [5]

Joseph died testate, Aug. 31, 1908. [6]
