Joseph was born on 29 March 1921 in Elkhorn, Kentucky, Harlan County. He was the son of Joseph Clyde Osborne and Zettia Rosemary Little.^[1]

In the 1930 census Joseph (age 9) was living in District 1, Harlan, Kentucky.^[1]

In 1987 Joseph (age about 65) was living in Marshall, IL.^[2]

Joseph died at the age of 66 on 26 November 1987 in Marshall, Clark, Illinois, United States of America.^[3][4]

Joseph Clyde Osborne, Jr. was born 29 March 1921 in Elkhorn, Kentucky, Harlan County to Joseph Clyde Osborne, Sr. and Zettia Rosemary Little. He was the fourth child born to Zettia and the only one living as of the date of his birth. Bertha is the name of the only one of his older siblings that is known. She died when she was a year old. He had four younger siblings: Kenneth Carol born about 1922 (died of tuberculosis), Gloria born about 1923 (died of meningitis), June (married name Tyree) born about 1924, and O.W. or Dub (Owen Willard) born May 22, 1930 (married Vera). Joe married Mamie Charlcie Dilbeck about 1939. They had one girl and one boy. This marriage ended in divorce. On 2 October 1950 he married Melba McKinsey in Ringgold, Georgia, Catoosa County. They had three sons, the first stillborn. Melba died in childbirth with the last. His last marriage was on April 21, 1954 to Wanda Ilene Medsker in Brazil, Indiana. They had two girls. Joe died of cancer on November 26, 1987 in the Heritage Convalescent Center, Paris, Illinois.
