Biography
Herbert was born in 1877. His birth was registered in Bedminster and his mother's maiden name was Phillips. [1]
In 1881 Herbert was one of 6 children living in Bedminster with parents George and Harriet. George was a Chimney Sweep. [2]
Laura Eaton Elms and Herbert Osgood married in 1898. Their marriage was registered in Bedminster. [3] By 1911 the couple had 6 children although 3 had died.
In 1911 Herbert, Laura and their 3 surviving children were living in Bristol. Herbert was a Butchers Assistant. [4]
He passed away aged 66 in 1943. [5]
Death
Herbert and Laura Osgood were found dead on the evening of 19 December 1943 from the effects of inhalation of coal gas. A verdict of "Accidental Coal Gas Poisoning" was returned following an inquest on 3 January 1944.
