George Osmond was born on the Isle of Wight, England to Benjamin Osmond and his wife, Mary, nee Cropley.
In 1851 he was living with his mother and siblings on Isle of Wight.[1]
In 1861 he was living with his parents and 3 older siblings at Alderney on Guernsey.[2]
He was an Assisted Immigrant to Queensland, Australia, arriving on the "Indus" on 26 Feb 1876, aged 27.[3]
He married Helen Souter Southwood at Ithaca (Brisbane) in 1882. He was living at Ann St, Oval (Brisbane and wished to build at Craig and Zigzag Strrets, Ithaca.[4] He is listed as a freeholder of Cray St, Ithaca in 1887.[5] He was a churchwarden at St Barnabas' Church on Waterworks Road (Ithaca) in 1888.[6]
In 1888, he was Secretary for Stockman P.C. Gold Mining Company mining at Eidsvold, QLD.[7]
In 1906, a partnership he was a member of was dissolved. They had been Manufacturing Confectioners.[8]
