Lars Osterlund was born as Lars Magnusson on 19 Jun 1836 or 1835 in Borghagen, Östra Husby, Östergötland, the son of Magnus Persson and Stina Cajsa Hansdotter.[1] As Lars Månsson, he married Inga Helena Månsdotter on 25 Sep 1863 in Östra Husby, Östergötland. His marriage record, which includes birthdates, says he was born in 1835.[2] In the 1870's he was living with his family in Oklunda, Östra Husby, which he, his wife, and five children left on 7 Mar 1881 to emigrate to North America.[3] He settled in Minnesota in the United States and used the last name Osterlund.[4]
